This is an erotic thriller that is dark, with many dark humor moments. The FMC is so self-aware, a bit OCD, and has decided to become a recluse due to her inner urge to murder. To make money, she decides to become a cam girl, and she quickly becomes quite good at it, becoming a hot commodity within the world.

The character development of this story is what I cherished most. The way the FMC's mind worked and how she navigated her own little world/virtual world was exciting, funny, and also heartbreaking.

As for the plot, some of the "thriller" aspects seemed like a stretch, the middle got slow, but the end picked up. Regardless, I need to continue reading this series.

This was definitely not what I expected going in. I'm not sure what exactly I was imagining, but the writing style totally took me off guard. It's just.. so casual.

Despite that, I enjoyed this book for what it was. A nice thriller erotica.

I enjoyed what others seem to not. I thought the descriptive writing of Deanna's sex work was intriguing and fun to read. As well, my favorite part of the story was the romance. (Though, what that says about the book... the fact my favorite part of this thriller was its romance... eh...)

I'm considering continuing the series just to see the romance between her and Jeremy develop more. We'll see.

The Girl in 6E by A. R. Torre was an interesting and quick-to-read thriller. Though I wouldn’t recommend this book to everyone, if you’re not easily offended, I would give it a shot. I think that there was a lot of built out character moments, but I don’t know that it was really necessary information for the plot to progress. It didn’t provide too much added insight into our main character to sit in on some of the calming sessions, but it certainly added a lot of pages. Personally, I didn’t find that these chapters with some of her clients added to the story, but some of you who enjoy spicier novels might find these chapters a bit more enjoyable. Overall I liked the way the story unfolded, even if some of it was really creepy and cringy. I’m not typically one to shy away from a book due to content warnings (and I think this one handles the situation in a way that made sense and didn’t glorify the attacker), but if you are, then I would definitely look at those before deciding to read this book. Obviously there’s some creepy, uncomfortable, hard to read scenes, but it does make the characters more lifelike, which is why I’ll say that you should read to your own comfort level. I think the book was well written and while I wouldn’t call the characters likable (for the most part) I would say that they are very true to life. I think that the actual plot, drive, and decisions of the characters were well-founded and justified, which is hard to do in a succinct, understandable way when you’re dealing with such severe topics. If you can get over the content warnings and want to read a unique thriller, this one is entertaining and enjoyable.

I guess the writer is skilled enough because I could not stop reading, and yet, I was left unsatisfied at the end.

I didn't mind having to suspend my disbelief for the main character's living situation. My issue with the story was all about the characters and resolution to the main conflict. Deanna is very much a tell don't show person. She has these sick fantasies but can't back it up in a fight. She makes irresponsible and impulsive decisions just to feel like the main character and that's why the ending is so bad and unbelievable. Jeremy (love interest) is absolutely useless. All you know about him is that he is good looking, hung up on Deanna, just as dumb, and while doing literally nothing but standing there, he managed to cure her, or at least, find a compromise.

I’m gonna go ahead and give this book all five stars because I loved everything about it. I will not be taking questions. I hate what I hate and I love what I love 😈

Deanna hasn’t left her apartment in a few years because she doesn’t trust herself to keep her murderous tendencies in check. Why bother mixing with the public when one can easily have everything delivered to your door, anyway? Sounds like a good plan to me. She works from home as a cam girl and makes a killing doing it. She fakes most of it but she’s making people happy and she’s rolling in the cash. A win/win.

“They want to believe that I am normal.”

I loved this book. I think I already said that but this is why: Deanna tells the story from her POV and she is a compelling storyteller. Her backstory which is revealed slowly makes it all make sense. Deanna knows who she is - or thinks she does, and she’s doing the general public a service by keeping to herself. She’s interesting and she’s not afraid to admit who she is deep, down inside.

She says this at one point, “I like the sound of screams. Real screams.” and all I can say is that when a woman tells you something like that about herself you should probably listen up, haha. But, OF COURSE, there is a man, a delivery man, who declares himself in love with Deanna and tries to weasel his way into her life and sticks his snout where it doesn’t belong. And then there’s another man who may or may not be a real menace to society and all of these come together to create a thrilling book that I absolutely adored.

“No one is normal. Everyone is just pretending to be normal.”
