Just love the gabriel allon books, his family, his beliefs, his willingness to risk...along with the forever persecution of the jews and the amazing abilities of Israel intelligence.
The reference to 'the next big global crisis will be a pandemic...from the wet markets of China".

Even though I enjoyed the book overall, there is no question that there is a different pace and dynamics here. It's definitely a more quiet mystery rather than the quick paced spy thriller centered around the legendary feats of its protagonist.

Maybe because I joined the Allon party late (only five books ago) I am not ready to let go. I hope Gabriel doesn't retire anytime soon and there is more fire inside the old spy.

Another great book! Though it took me longer to read it, I enjoyed it very much.

Like other books in the Gabriel Allon series, this is a page turner (well I actually listened to it but it was captivating). Various nail biting climax moments with nice denouements.
The afterword was well worth listening and compelling argument against the historical basis for anti-Semitism.
It does get a little predictable how things will end but still fun read.
