I enjoy Daniel Silva and especially the Allon series, but I felt the plot line in this particular book was a bit thin and at times fantastical.

I really like this series. This book will not let you down. There is a hint of super natural that is kind of a strange device... and I am still working out how I feel about that. The story is fun, fast, engaging, and has several characters that I really enjoy, out of the cast of characters that belong to this series.

A good Allon book but maybe one too many moving parts. Unlike previous books the plot felt rushed, the important moments lacked the previous details. Nevertheless the story was still there.

Much less of a spy thriller as in the previous novels. The 20th in the series is much more a political murder mystery that slowly develops in the 1st half and then careens into a rapid finish for the 2nd half. Those with little knowledge of the Church and it's history in being a silent power during WWII may find some interest to offset the lack of intrigue.

I am clearly an acolyte of this series;that being stated, this is one of the finest works that I have read. I adore the way Silva writes, and in this book he showcases his skills, both in the storyline and the prose.

This was my first book read for pleasure. It started me on my reading journey at the age of 50. Better late than never.
