Meh. Some beautiful imagery mingles with a largely unpleasant main character and a really slow moving story. (And a hint of possible magic but either too much or not enough of it.)
I have to say I had my doubts about this one. I’m not really into “magic” but this was a little magic rolled up in heart, mystery, and life lessons!
Ein wunderbares Buch. Ich hab bis jetzt noch kein Buch gelesen, in dem die Protagonistin den selben Name wie ich habe.
Der Schreibstil ist modern, gefühlvoll und einfach schön. Die Handlung ist spannend und die Geschichte baut nach und nach aufeinander auf, ohne Fragen zu hinterlassen.
Spannungstechnisch hat mich das Buch ab etwa der Mitte nicht mehr losgelassen. Der Spannungsbogen war gut.
Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert =)

I really enjoyed this book, although I would consider it a YA novel. The mystery of Tamara's family is well written and you don't know until the end what is going on. I love the way this author always injects a bit of the mystical in her stories.

It was quite a while ago that I read this one. While browsing the library shelves, I was reminded of this book, and decided to re-visit it and provide my review to Goodreads.
This story is probably more suited for young adults, but it can be somewhat entertaining for anyone who enjoys a little magical adventure, light read.
In some ways this is a mystery, a coming-of-age story, about a once spoiled girl, who through boredom finds a magical diary and everything changes.
Consider this…
You find a book and begin to read a page. You don’t think much of it. But when the events of the day play out the same way as what you had read in the book, what are you to think?
What if you knew what was going to happen tomorrow and because you knew and didn’t like what you knew, you could change the outcome – would you?
Or was there a story in-between those pages for you to learn, that you needed to know?
What will you do?

The book started off very slow but then quickly picked up the pace midway through. Figured out the mystery half way through and the author did explain everything in the end.

Technically, I didn't finish this book. My book club filled me in on what happens. I've heard it's a better audiobook than hard copy. Maybe I'll give the audio a shot but far too fluffy a read for me so far.

Od ove knjige bila sam jednom odustala, zatim sam se vratila i kao sto sam rekla, jasno mi je bilo moje odustajanje. Tamara kao pripovjedacica bila mi je izuzetno iritantna i naporna. Nisam ju voljela, ali prica koju prica mi se svidjela. Ova ce se knjiga svidjeti onima koji vole duge, slikovite opise. Onima koji vole malo magije u realnim pricama, koji vole obiteljske drame i tek malo kriminalistike da zacini cijelu pricu. Kad se zaokruzila cijela prica, svidjela mi se ta zapetljanost, cak mi je i u redu sto se mozda sa svime zavlacilo i odugovlacilo. Bilo je sve u svojoj mjeri. Ni sama ne znam koja mi je ovo knjiga Ahern, nije najbolja, no nije niti najlosija. Drago mi je sto ovaj put nisam odustala, a ovo ce biti prvi slucaj knjige koju uzimam drugi put i ipak ju uspjevam dovrsiti!
