Ughhhh I was truly hoping it would be better. I don't even dabble in this genre but the book was short and hyped so I gave it a shot. Not for me.

Diagnose this

I’m not sure what the point of this was. This book is marketed as a thriller or mystery (it’s neither) but some have suggested it’s more of a character study. It’s hardly even that. The characters are one dimensional. The story has no arc, little believability, and no particular personality. The stalker trope is overdone already, and this one added nothing new.

I listened to it on audio, and while it’s a short book, it still felt like a bit of slog.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

Descent into madness,  questionable narrator

Rounding up from 2.5.

Thriller meets character study, and an examination of what can happen when a person really feels they've lost everything.

I was going to give this book 3 stars until a certain seen with a cat that made me want to pull over my car and throw up. Not a book for cat lovers or anyone who doesn't like books that are just slow motion trainwrecks narrated by an emotionless character.

struggling between 2 and 3 but it just feels like a 2

good weird spooky book. not so much a thriller, i was waiting for something to happen for 70% of the book. the end made me sweaty.

quick easy freaky read that i will never read again!

I wouldn't call this a thriller but I enjoyed it. It was like hearing the innermost thoughts of someone and seeing them slowly lose their mind as they act on those impulses. It's an alright read if you just want something to fly through on a weekend.
