this took me two months to finish. it was an easy read but i just didn't really care about the story nor the characters.
this book is not suspenseful at all, maybe even boring.
the story isn't anything special. there were no surprising plot twists or anything like it at all which is something that i expect of a thriller. the ending was very disappointing (and boring) as well.
the characters were infuriating and kinda misogynistic (the way women and especially their appearances were described... just weird). this is why i'm always hesitant to pick up books written by men

2...Why do I feel like lately Alex Cross knows or is acquainted with someone who ends up murdered? And what's with the political storylines lately...this isn't Alex's first either...like give me something new...Or have I officially outgrown Patterson?
What can I say? I've been reading Alex Cross for about 20 years now, and I'll probably continue to read this series until JP decides his time has come. Deadly Cross is pretty standard fare, it was suspenseful and the plot kept the fire on high. There were several mysteries happening in this book, as well as some shakeups on the personal front. I can't remember the last time a thriller made me cry, but I did in fact shed a copious amount of tears for this book. My final thoughts on Deadly Cross: nothing groundbreaking, but still a fun read and slightly emotional for longtime fans.

Way better than the last Alex Cross. It was easy to follow even though there was a lot going on
jp does not disappoint too often and while i didnt completely dislike this book, i feel that it lacked the thrill of cross justice or other alex cross books. still enjoyed it and will always recommend the series as the books are fast-paced and the mcs are each one of a kind. ALSO WHAT WAS THAT EXTRACT FROM FEAR NO EVIL i expect a five star read

“Deadly Cross” by James Patterson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book #28 in the Alex across series
I’m probably pretty biased because pretty much all of my Alex Cross ratings are 5 stars. This was my first ever series of James Patterson’s. My mom got me started and I haven’t looked back. While I love most of Patterson’s series this is my favorite. The characters have evolved a lot over the last 28
Books including his children.
Alex is a consultant with the Metro P.D and the FBI. When a double murder hits close to home she finds herself investigating the murder of an old friend and her kids schools founder. Alex’s old friend Kay Willingham is the Vice President ex-wife and her status has made this murder even more scandalous than it already appeared. Alex and FBI agent Ned Mahoney travel to Alabama to uncover the truth of Kay’s past. They didn’t expect to end up in the cross hairs of her enemies. Can they figure out who murdered Kay? Is it that obvious or are there secrets no one can expect?
