Made to Love

If you can get past the spoken word (ugh

I listened to Made to Love as an audiobook, but I think I would enjoy this series more in physical format—the female narrator just didn’t work for me. Something about her delivery felt off, and hearing her pronounce Tupac as “Tupack” took me right out of the story. The male narrator even mispronounced the main character’s name once, which made me question whether the audio had been reviewed before publishing.

As for the story itself, it was okay. Thankfully, I first discovered Alexandria House through a different book, so I know she has an amazing way with words. But this particular series hasn’t grabbed me. The romance between Trevia and Nyles felt rushed and a bit off. There’s a difference between a fast romance that feels exciting and one that just feels confusing and possessive. This one leaned toward the latter, with too many half-truths and repetitive references to the past, making the plot feel scattered.

Trevia’s sister’s involvement seemed important initially as a way to bring Trevia and Nyles together, but ultimately, it felt more like filler, and the ending seemed abrupt. I plan to finish the series (because I have to lol), but I won’t be coming back to this one anytime soon. Trevia had me wanting to shake some sense into her more than a few times!

The book was so good! When I tell you Nyles know what he be doing! The man knows how to use his mouth! Both spoken word and in other ways. The story was amazing. I don't necessarily care much for the miscommunication trope but this one was nice. Trevia had every single one of her guards up and I can definitely relate. But the way this man loves her! The way he caters to every single love language she has!! I couldn't wait for her to stop playing hard to get and give that man a chance.

Mixed feelings on this one. I enjoyed most of this. However, both characters acted childish at times and it was never addressed and I couldn't relate.

I'm not the type of woman that needs to be up under a man at all times. Trevia lost her damn mind the first time she wasn't with dude and fell back into psycho bitch behavior and he allowed it. Nyles was no angel though because he knowingly pouted and didn't address the fact that his girl was a victim.

Nyles was smooth af and in this entire book it was framed that he's a fighter. That he stands on ten toes behind his woman and would lay any man out if they tried. YET when the opportunity presented itself, he did not live up to the hype.

Overall, this was spicy, entertaining, and Nyles is smooth af. I loved seeing the updates within the friend group and appreciate the growth in the writing.

Nyles is a MAN and stood on business from the very beginning. Who doesn’t love a man that knows exactly what he wants…

It seemed predictable. May go back and finish another time.
