Ivy wild wrote an incredible book and CJ Bloom and Joe Arden were spectacular bringing our two broken MC's, Lex and Carter to life. The pure emotion poured into their narration was outstanding. You could literally feel the pain of both MC's as they navigated their insane attraction to one another and the growing tension and feelings that were burning between them like a blazing inferno.
Carter and Lex crossed paths when they were both at somewhat of a crossroads in their lives. Their intense and insanely hot moment together was only ever supposed to be that, a moment. Neither of them ever could've imagined they'd cross paths again so soon, or what they'd come to mean to one another. They were a force to be reckoned with in business and pleasure.
They navigated the lies, deceit, and betrayal in Carter's business like it was their life's mission. Lex was a woman on a mission, and with her in his corner, there was no way Carter wasn't going to come out on top.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I loved how well written it is. Lex and Carter is full of steam, romance, and healing. I loved how these two got together. Their chemistry is undeniable and their love for Alfa Romeos being part of their story was super cute. The story is so well written, delving into deeper topics like messed up family dynamics, betrayal (not by the main characters), expectations, drinking as a coping mechanism, and how both Lex and Carter were an instrumental part in each other's healing. Great pace, delicious burn that turns fiery hot, romance, and a really good plot are only a few of the thing that made this a great story. The narration by Joe Arden and CJ Bloom was exquisite and pure perfection.
I'm ngl I had high hopes for this book and while the plot and smut were good, the writing definitely needed more editing. The POV changes were a lot, I feel like it actually took away from the plot over editing it. The book did not stick to one form of POV (frequently switched from first person to third person but another characters POV several times). Like some things are a "no one does this or acts like that" but it's fantasy so you let it go but this book was beyond that
This just wasn’t for me! I didn’t really connect with anything and didn’t love the story itself. It was just kind of boring and then super intense steamy scenes that I didn’t really care for. The last 40% I had to force myself to finish and then ended up skim reading a lot of it. I love a broken/damaged MC but it was all just meh for me.

This was so much more than I thought and I absolutely loved reading. It's a story with all the feels along with plenty of twists and turns. Carter and Lex's story will captivate you. Definitely recommend.
This book pulled me in and captured me until the very end! I absoulety loved the story and it was so well written. Carter was simply amazing and completely stole my heart. He was broken and yet the way he was with Lex showed his heart wasn't as cold and black as he thought. Lex was just lovely and her caring nature was the perfect match for Carter. Ivy didn't let us get off easy though, the angst and feelings she provoked were intense and will leave your heart pounding! I really loved seeing points of view from more than just the two main characters, it really added another level to my reading seeing more perspectives that I usually don't get! Saying this, it also really showed how much you can dislike a character beyond how you know the main characters feel about them, you'll know who when you read this! What more can I say other then you're going to want to dive into this book immediately and never come out! Ivy has done it again, written an enthralling novel that will leave you wishing it would never end! Amazing work!
I loved this story and the audiobook was so good! I really enjoyed how Carter and Lex met. I liked that they had more to bond over than just work. The tension in the story was perfect and I didn’t want to stop listening!
