I know it’s supposed to be a hallmark romance but it was fairly cheesy at times that I actually cringed. I also could not get over the fact that a 29 year old man was pining over a 19 year old girl who was like family to him. There’s a few good chapters with spice but for me the “little menace” parts gave me the ick. I would encourage you to read the Epilogue it does save the book a little. Fast read. Do not listen on audio the voices are not great and the man’s voice (who is supposed to be 39) sounds like a 59 year old man to me. Which gave the age gap an even creepy feel. If you can get over the age gap and the cheese factor the spice is okay.

wreck my plans? no more like wreck my life!

A very sweet read about how sometimes life goals change but I liked that the main character ended up pursuing her dreams again at the end. I think this is always a good reminder, as many of us lose our dreams along the way.

A cute read between series. Age gap romance but they are both adults when the romance starts.

"You are not the person people find on their way to meet someone else. You are the whole damn package, Lena, and anyone would be lucky to love you and take care of you."
Gavin, page 129, "Wreck My Plans: A Small Town Holiday Romance" Jillian Meadows

This was a good Christmas novel with all the Christmas feeling.

It was a simple story about two people being in love for the past 10 years and at some point they give into each other only for one night.

Until that one night extends and that one of them decides to flee, like the other did a couple of years ago.

When they both realise that they are actually in love, it is so amazing as they rush towards each other.

I did enjoy the epilogue of this book as it shows that they both decide to adopt one of the orphans that we meet earlier in the book and Lena is expecting a baby.

Both characters were beautifully written and each of them each other's opposite. Which makes it even better as it is an opposite-attracts trope. But it is even more.

However, I would not recommend it to those who don't like a full on Christmas cheesy romance.

Super cute. I've really enjoyed both Jillian Meadows books I've read in the past month and can't wait for more books from her.
