I enjoyed the dynamic of Lena and Gavin both surprising each other by showing up at her family home for Christmas. And I am always here for long pining and best friend's brother dynamics. But I just could not get into this story as much as I wanted. And I think I finally put together why. This is not being marketed as a sequel. But clearly Lena was a side character in Give Me Butterflies. I put that together only after looking for previous books and matching main character names. I love series, but I also love reading them in order. I constantly felt like I was missing important backstory for understanding the character development for Lena. During her big emotional scene, I still felt I was missing the motivation. So I think this would work best as a sequel, rather than as a quick steamy Christmas book.
