This is the sequel to Big Bad. When I saw that this was out, I had to snatch it up, because I LOVED the first book. It mixed just the right elements of sexy, humor, and badassery that one would really want in their paranormal romance. I like my vampires hot and slightly sadistic, and I love my werewolves commanding and dominant. Sommer managed to make her vampires even more hot, and her werewolves something to salivate over in this second installment. I have to say, when I first saw that she was doing a sequel I thought that Tyler would get his own story, from his POV, and I was a touch disappointed to see that, that wasn’t the case. I was happy to see him settled. It seems like such a poor constellation, only because Tyler was my favorite of Ellis and Tyler.

With that being said, as a whole, the story didn’t leave me unsatisfied. Sommer didn’t hold back on any punches and went right for the right hook that left you going “OH MY GOD!” more than once, giggling at the clever dialogue, and panting during those super steamy sex scenes. Let’s just say, that Sommer has a way with her erotic words. She wrote a high paced Paranormal story that will forever be remembered in my mind, and that I highly recommend to all fans of the paranormal genre. The writing is very solid, the voice is fantastic, and it has that 90’s campy vampire feel sort of like The Lost Boys which I think is what endeared me to the story in the first place. You for sure have to read Big Bad to read this story, it is a direct sequel and they reference the events of book one many times. It is not a waste and the story is so well fleshed out, and the characters so well written you can’t help but realize that you really did make a purchase worth your dollar!

Once again, Sommer makes me realize why she is one of my go to authors on pretty much all the erotic genre fronts.

What happens when the girl gets the guy AND the wolf? Spend the Christmas holiday with her new pack…um family at their place. Her yuletide happiness shattered with one devastating phone call, Ruby finds that her recent bad tidings are nowhere near done and the real big bad wolf is back to make sure she’s finished once and for all. Her hunky wolf Ellis isn’t about to “live and let live” this time, and with her friends and new family, they’ll do what it takes to keep her safe.
Just one problem with the plan—it’s actually up to Ruby alone this time to get the job done. She’s ready to defend those she loves and pay with her life if needed, to make sure the evil invading the wolf Town is eradicated for good one and for all.

Second in her Big Bad series, Long Lost by Sommer Marsden packs just as much of a punch as the first book (Big Bad). Right from the start she unleashes the passion between the newly married Ruby Sue and Ellis Bach and never looks back. You can either catch up or fall behind but I assure you, you’re going to want to keep up because this story is so worth it. The author has so much packed into the plot you can’t help but keep turning the pages—I literally could not put this one down! Her characters are complex but down to earth, the plot involved but not so much it’s difficult to follow, and by the end you’re hungry for what the next book will bring (Peabody please???). The triangle from the first story is somewhat resolved, opening up possibilities in future installments and I was glad. It really bothered me that Ruby was so quick to discard a solid friendship to scratch an itch.

Ruby grows up a lot in this story; she has to if she wants to survive and keep everyone she holds dear safe. While there was suspense and action galore, in the end it was Ruby’s humor that hooked me. She has a skewed way of looking at things sometimes—her brain and mouth are in constant motion, often making it difficult to get out of her own way. I absolutely loved that and unfortunately can completely identify with it. There are several twists and turns throughout the book and an ending I wasn’t expecting at all—and I can tell you it’s difficult to keep me guessing that long (but I loved it!). I can guarantee that you’ll tear through Long Lost by Sommer Marsden and eagerly look forward to what the wolves of Town bring to the table next!
