This book had a lot of potential but really didn’t live up to it. The plot was really predictable and unrealistic. The tone of the book was inconsistent (it read as a comedy at times and a serious drama at other times and the transitions between those was never clear). The only characters I found interesting was the eccentric friend and the MMC’s mom; everyone else was either incredibly bland or annoying (and both the main characters fell into the latter category). There were a lot of loose threads that were either abandoned or tied up unrealistically.

I honestly only read this because I wanted to watch the movie, but reviews are suggesting the movie isn’t any better… I might just be letting this one go.
