Very... steamy.

More like 3 1/2 stars. This was surprisingly enjoyable, considering it was old and quite short, neither of which I realized when I put it on hold at the library, and both of which (or at least the short part) probably would have stopped me from bothering to read it. But it was quite fun, and only felt dated (I think it was written in the late '90s) in a few places. And I liked that it was set at a radio station. Could have been a great contemporary romance if it had been longer.

I have fond memories of the short Jennifer Crusie romances, but honestly, the politics are weird. It just feels so dated to be comfortable with the crotchety old white guy owner of a radio station being a jerk about what the station is allowed to talk about. But Allie and Charlie are likable and the weirdos working at the radio station are too.

Jennifer Crusie does it again with "Charlie All Night" a story of a radio producer and her new DJ and their uniquely budding relationship.

Crusie is a fast talker, giving her characters fire and unique personalities. The dialogue is snappy and the novel is full of perfect little laughs. She takes you to the edge of what could possibly be believable scenarios and then adds true heart.

If I didn't start so late in the evening this book would have been finished in one sitting. Easy and fun as always.

Happy Reading!

I really enjoyed this book. There was nothing mind-blowing about it. It was rather predictable, but it was a fun, sexy read. It was exactly what I was looking for when I picked it up. Jennifer Cruise is one of the only romance authors I really read because her scenarios (for the most part) don't feel as ridiculous to me as they can in other authors' works. Granted, my experience is severely limited with the genre, but I have a feeling Ms. Cruise will always be at the top of my list for the genre.

Charlie All Night by Jennifer Crusie had more romance than I usually read, but it was still an interesting story. Allie McGuffey has been dumped and demoted from her prime time slot by the radio DJ she produced into a star. Enter temporary DJ Charlie Tenniel Allie’s new project for the night time hour and if Allie can make him famous and also get over her ex at the same time what could go wrong? Charlie is only doing a favor for dad, whose friend owns the radio station, and has no intention of becoming famous or getting involved in any romantic entanglements, but there’s just something about Allie.
