Completely ignoring the faults of the main characters, this is a dark romance obviously they're gonna have issues, the antagonist storylines were just waaay too out there. Both Kaia's father and Honor started as problematic people, by the end they were the most outlandish villains, both invoking the mob to solve their problems, and coming up with completely unbelievable solutions to meet their ends. I couldn't help but laugh every time Honor and Kaia's father showed up, and if the antagonist/conflict in a dark romance is a joke then what's the point?

Oh man! This is intense, steamy, twisted, and a definite page-turner!!

The Patron is book 1 in this trilogy! What an introduction!! Kaia and Callum are opposites who are very drawn to each other.

Callum is a former dancer turn tech entrepreneur billionaire but he is a very damaged man. He feels as though his heart is cold and dead, therefore he does not do relationships. One night Callum visits a strip club and become intrigued with Kaia's dancing.

Kaia is a beautiful professional ballerina in the day who also dances in a strip club at night to pay her bills. There she meets Callum. There is something about him that draws her to him.

Kaia joins the New York Ballet only to discover that Callum also workes there....can they keep their attraction outside the studio and can they keep each other's secret?

There are so many secrets to be uncovered in this one story, I can't wait to read book 2 - The Dancer!

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Haunting, Unpredictable, Steamy, Twisted, Page-turner, Action-packed, Great world building, Original, Wonderful characters, Entertaining

This book was amazing. It is book one of three in Vivian Wood's Broken Slipper Trilogy. I could not put this book down. I loved the characters, Kaia and Callum. Their intense story will pull you in from how they meet until the very last sentence of this book. This book is the first one I have read from this author and I am excited to see what else is out there. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to The Dancer!

Gave this 4 stars because the cliffhanger was brutal. Ending the book right in the middle of the story killed me.

While there may eventually be a happy ending in the series, it does not come in this book.

"Tell me you'll be mine. Dance just for me. Let me be your patron, Cerise."

I wanted to enjoy this read but omg that was such a confusing turn off readers.
I get it Calum is an arrogant billionaire playboy but his character just screams dickhead to me.

Kaia, I wanted to support her but she can be so dumb sometimes that it annoys me.
There are too many question marks in their character's history but it feels like nothing is being touched upon just the intense chemistry of Kaia and Calum.

"I take a step toward him before my stripper training comes back to me. Head up. Shoulders back. Your hips should sway every time you walk. Make him want you."

Dnf ...H has the emotional maturity of a brick and h is willing to do anything and everything for a price. The writing wasn’t great either, the cringe was real, like truly how many times can he “roar”
