The baby loves dogs and usually laughs at them with unending glee. These dogs just didn't do it for her, though. Maybe they were just too small on the page or too numerous for a 9-month-old. The writing style is poetically simple and I can imagine trying to memorize and count all the crazy dogs if I would have encountered this as a child. I think we'll revisit this one later.
Another classic from Dr Seuss world of books and this one is by PD Eastman and lives up to all the silliness from Seuss books that are comfortable and like home in a book.
A great little read, and helpful for youngsters.

Never fails to make kids and grown-ups laugh together.
I remember this book being a part of my childhood weekly at one point. I still adore the illustrations, and just the whole book.
One of my favorite children's books. It is simple and fun, interweaving a couple little stories about different dog characters with colorful and fanciful illustrations.
A must for any little one's bookshelf. A bit repetitive, but stands the test of time, I feel.

This is a classic for a reason. Funny to read it as an adult and go hey! look at all that preposition work! look at all those colors! how educational and beneficial!
but best of all, the text is snappy and rhythmic and the pictures are full of details to look at it and giggle over (I was always wondering about that one dog that's awake in bed when everyone is supposed to be sleeping).
Just magic.
(and I've probably quoted "go dogs go, the light is green now!" more in my life than any other line from any other piece of literature)
