This is the first book I ever read by myself. Sadly, I am now disillusioned by finding out thatm despite my belief for the last, i dunno, 18 years of my life, Dr. Seuss did not write this book. Web of lies! Anyways, besides that, great read for a child. In the tradition of the good Doctor.
(Read with little sister as part of the "1,001 Children's Books To Read")
Very Dr-Suess-esque, so not my favorite style, but I probably would've dug it more if I was a youngin'.

As is typical of Dr. Suess, this is a silly, non-sensical book. This time, about dogs.
January 2017: This book used to torture me when William was about 2 years old - he loved it, and it felt so endless and repetitive (because it is)! Then after a year or so, it began to collect dust on the bookshelf. Now that he's beginning to read on his own, I picked it out again for him to read to me. It's been so perfect! I am impressed by his stamina in reading through the whole story, and it's such a wonderful consistent exposure to sight words. He now asks to read it to me - even after reading other stories first. I had to add a star...
adventurous
lighthearted
fast-paced
Fun book to learn about opposites. Little kids would love to have this for read aloud.
What the book has going for it though is that repetitive Dr. Suess type wording. Little dog, big dog, white dog, so forth were written every other page so that children can get used to seeing the words and learn them. With over 50 pages I couldn't give this book a higher score. It made it feel drawn out and even I was getting antsy for it to be over.
