Rhiannon Barnsley’s The Clique is a gripping crime thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. This book follows Cassandra Harlow and her compelling journey to investigate her friend’s death which reveals itself to be far more dangerous than she could’ve imagined.

Barnsley’s writing is both suspenseful and immersive, it pulled me into Cassandra’s world with expertly crafted tension and twists. As a reader who doesn’t often reach for this genre, I am absolutely delighted that I decided to give this one a go, it is phenomenal.

From the distinct characters to the compelling plot, I found it hard to put this book down. I cannot recommend it enough.

I cannot wait to see what Barnsley writes next!

5/5 Stars – Unputdownable and Addictive!
The Clique by Rhiannon Barnsley is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that kept me hooked from the very first page. With sharp writing, well-drawn characters, and twist after twist, this story dives deep into the complexities of friendship, power, and secrets. Barnsley masterfully builds tension, and just when you think you have it all figured out she flips the script. A brilliantly crafted page-turner that I couldn’t put down. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a smart, suspenseful read.

This was a good debut novel that kept me hooked from start to finish! The story follows a lawyer in the aftermath of her colleague's shocking decision to jump from their office rooftop. That colleague had been involved in a secret women's society designed to help women advance in their careers, but nothing about it is as it seems. Determined to uncover the truth, the main character dives deeper in to all the secrets of the secret society.
I found the concept of the book fascinating and couldn’t put it down—I was excited to see how everything would unfold. While some events toward the end felt a bit far-fetched, the story was undeniably entertaining.

4.5 star for me

I just finished "The Clique" by Rhiannon Barnsley. What a wild ride! I loved every minute of it.

The description doesn't begin to capture the drama, intrigue, mystery & mega twists that unfold in this story. I couldn't put this book down! I loved the character of Cass, who was strong, determined and a total badass!!

The ending totally floored me!! I highly recommend this book, it was so well written, full of twists and will not disappoint.

I will say if suicide, drugs, and/or sexual assault are triggers for you, I would proceed carefully.

Thanks to @Netgalley, @HarperCollins UK and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this ARC and give my honest thoughts.

I was surprised to see this was a debut novel & I really enjoyed this audiobook. The story follows Cassandra, a lawyer that is falling victim to the “good ole boys” façade, as a woman in a male dominated industry. When her good friend & coworker Zara falls to her death from the rooftop of their work building, police say it is an apparent su!c!de, but Cassandra thinks otherwise. She is then recruited into an organization called “The Clique,” a women only secret club that helps navigate past the male chauvinist stereotypes and helps women move up in their careers. Soon, Cassandra starts to think there is something more sinister going on with “The Clique” and begins to wonder if they had something to do with his Zara’s death. As she investigates, secrets are revealed and she is potentially putting herself in danger.

Overall, a very good read that touches on a subject that that is simply not talked about enough.  I am interested in more from this author as she releases more.

Not my cup of tea, felt too mafia like for me, took way too long to get good, then ended very quickly.
