”He is the earth, and I am the moon. There was never enough I could do to get him to love me that way I wanted, to see me as more than just a moon. I have never been enough, and he has always been too much”

MY HEART IS BROKEN. Oh my god. This book. THIS FUCKING BOOK JUST SHATTERED MY HEART.
Here I am still awake at six am in the morning, heartbroken from reading this
Their story killed me, the ending was just.... brb crying again. I’m just at loss for words for this beautiful, beautiful book. I can’t even describe how I’m feeling right now ugh bye I need a cigarette

I think Rachel Lynn Solomon is rocketing to the top of my list of favorite YA authors? This was really beautifully sad and ultimately hopeful. The characters are so richly and deftly drawn and this feels like one of the most nuanced and complex YAs I've read. It will give you absolutely all the feelings, but in the best way.

initially i thought this book would be an angsty romance with an illness plotline thrown in for drama. but boy was i wrong.
i ended up really liking [b:Our Year of Maybe|30340865|Our Year of Maybe|Rachel Lynn Solomon|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1546534203l/30340865._SY75_.jpg|50840642] for the following reasons:
1. peter's chronic illness fet real and authentic and never tacked on
2. representation of jewish characters. the characters might feel disconnected from their roots but are still very protective about their culture. that was very relatable to me.
3.growing pains of being a young adult. loosing friends, making new ones. letting go of toxic friendships.
4. family dynamics, especially the part with sophies younger sister having a baby felt so emotional
