Vampire love story with humorous writing
This was a bit of an odd read for me. On the one hand, it's this off-kilter cliche of a love-story between a vampire and her mortal host. And on the other, it's a borderline satire of Anne Rice and Poppy Z. Brite. Moore does a few interesting things in his treatment of the genre (and the vampire mythos more generally). Entertaining (and quite amusing at moment (e.g., TURKEY BOWLING!)) and worth the read.
This did not aged well. It was kinda fun at first but the characters are so flat. I don't know why all the boys speak like elementary students and the main girl could've had so potential. I was looking for a book that will fill the void of What We Do in the Shadows, I found this book, but sadly, it didn't made its mark.
AH who am I kidding, I gave this book a four originally but I know that deep down I'll always give it a five. There's a beautiful undead redhead in it, how am I NOT going to give it a five? I love redheads.
A lot of fun - a comic vampire love story featuring a bunch of stoners working the night shift at a supermarket, a crime story, and a nice sweet little relationship between very likable protagonists.
This book was a quick easy read. Very interesting Christopher Moore is creative and funny. Definitely reading the rest of the series and recommend this!
Christopher Moore again delivers an absurd, silly, fun story about a topic of no importance whatsoever. There is no need to be a fan of vampire stories to get a lot of laughs and stay engrossed in this one.
