3.5/4 - decided to round up because it was so entertaining. the mixed media format WORKS, though i think including some of the art would have made it even stronger. all the characters are awful and i love them. reveals made me flip back to find the hints i had missed - the end goes off the rails a little, but i still loved it and literally gasped at the end.

the book does a great job of building up tension and the animosity between characters. i do think the set up took way too long and the story felt a bit longer than it needed to be
