Doctor Heartbreaker is part of the Cocky Hero World and can be read out of order as they all stand-alone.
Doctor Heartbreaker by Katheryn M. Hearst is a second chance novel and so called me in like a siren song.
Rhett is many things, but what he has in looks is sorely lacking in his bed-side manner. Rhett is a cardiologist, with a long list of complaints from his patients about his lack of bedside manner.
As a result, he gets partnered with a woman from his past, a woman who's heart he broke years ago, his childhood sweetheart, Emily.
This book was sweet and heartbreaking, when children are involved it adds another level of feels. If you love second chance novels, you'll enjoy this one.

Emily is a social worker of sorts. She works with kids that need special medical attention. She has a child right now that is in the United States that is needing to be operated on. She was set up on a blind date by her friends little does she know that the guy is same guy that was her first love and has known since the 4th grade. Emily has to leave the date before Rhett can realize who she is.
Emily is also dealing with missing her daughter who stays with her mother when she is away for work. But then something happens to the patient and Rhett gets thrown into the mix even more. Emily and the little girl she is trying to help end up staying with Rhett. He believes that it is better for the patient. That is when things start to change between him and Emily. But will Rhett be able to get past what happened to his own little girl to give Emily a chance and save her patient? A heartwarming well written enjoyable storyline from beginning to end. I loved Emily and Rhett. These two both have quite the past that they need to overcome. Another great addition to this series.

The cover grabbed my attention but the story kept it!

This was just hands down a good story. The storytelling was excellent, no real angst, and just enough steam. There could have been drama but I’m glad the author let Emily and Rhett be adults and rise above it.

In the end sometimes it comes down to timing. I’m glad that their clocks finally lined up!

Rhett and Emily second chance friends to lovers story, heartbreak, avoidance, and betrayal drove them apart, they now meet under stressful circumstances and they have a second chance. You will laugh but also will have you reading through the entire book in no time. Definitely a good story to read.

When a married couple decides to set up their friends on blind dates, nothing bad should happen, right? Little did Bridget and Simon from "British Bedmate" know that they knew each other and had history! What could go wrong? EVERYTHING. But Rhett doesn't pass up the chance to right the wrongs he made to Emily. The manner in which Rhett went about that was a little unconventional, but no harm, no foul. Time has passed and they've grown up.

While I read this story, I was on the verge of tears with every revelation that Rhett and Emily made. My heart! These characters were SO GOOD together and definitely belonged to each other. Kathryn Hearst did a spectacular job weaving Simon and Bridget into the story and made it a great addition to Penelope and Vi's Cocky Hero world.

I received an advanced copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Rhett is the cardiologist with a broken heart and wounded soul. Emily is the girl next door and all of Rhett’s first including his first heart break.

This book was incredibly sweet. I loved the interactions between Emily and Rhett. Their reconnect scene at the beginning of the book is every blind date/set up gone bad. Rhett doesn’t recognize Emily and instead mistakes her as the waitress! He is stepping in it left and right with her. Rhett tries to make up ground and reconnect with Emily but before he even has his chance, his crazy ex wife makes an appearance. She is the whole reason Rhett broke her heart a decade ago.
I don’t always love second chance romances but this one was well done. Youth and bad decisions can only allow for so much leniency and forgiveness, but I don’t think Emily and Rhett are completely to blame for how things ended the first time. I love the addition of their mothers and Emily’s daughter Zoe and their patient Paola.
I really enjoyed the story immensely. It was nice to revisit Simon and Bridget from the British Bedmate. I have loved these worlds and characters that Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have inspired. This was a 4/5 read for me.
