It took me a few chapters to get into it because it starts very cheesy, but then Holly and Jack and Emma weasel their way into your heart as they become more nuanced and human characters. This was good fun!

The depth of this book surprised me and I ended up loving it way more than I anticipated. The themes of grief, struggle through family relationships and forgiveness was really beautiful. I also really loved the holiday vibes. They were subtle but there and this book had a great understanding of loneliness around the holidays after loss. But what I loved most was the hope that this book brought. Family relationships can be hard but there is always hope. A wonderful read for Christmas time.
