3/5 stars - enjoyed while reading, but it probably won’t stick with me a few years from now. If you’re looking for a sentimental and holiday themed read, this is for you. Not overly romantic, which I was surprised by, but I enjoyed that aspect of the plot as a whole. Please be warned that there are some triggering subject matters within the story, so read with caution. I would’ve liked to see more development between Jack and Holly - overall, it all felt very surface level, despite the traumatic events that they went through / were dealing with, both individually and jointly.

One of my newest favorite holiday reads!

Love, Holly is the kind of book that will fill your cup while simultaneously pouring it out. It is a lovely story with themes of forgiveness, family, love, and how small choices can create huge life consequences. If you love books with found family relationships...this one is brilliant.

I loved Holly from page one as she navigates her life and how a huge accident change the trajectory of her family relationships. This push and pull of grief and loss was very touching. It's the kind of book that made me want to go hug my sisters and cling to the love we share.

Holly and Jack find and lose each other by chance, but it's fate that pulls them back together after tragedy. I loved the romantic dynamic and how they used each other to heal and seek forgiveness from the past. I was really impressed with how the author handled their romantic growth while not ignoring the emotional baggage they each carried.

This book was absolutely delightful. I cried, I swooned, I wanted to hug it because I fell in love with the characters. All in all this isn't the most Christmasy read but it captures the FEELINGS of Christmas which in all honesty might be my favorite vibe anyway.

**one fade to black scene, some strong language.

A sweet ending but kind of exhausting for a bit.

I went into Love, Holly thinking it would be a cute romance to set the Christmas mood, and I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. This book had so much more to offer and I was shocked with how much I loved it.

SPOILERS AHEAD!
“Some people you know for a lifetime, but they never really make an imprint on your soul-and some people you only have to know for an instant to know they will be a part of you forever”. This line sealed the 5 stars for me.

The grief, regret, and loss seen in each character added so much depth, and made every person seem real. The miscommunications were actually understandable as they tied into events with Emma, Holly, Lily, and Jack just couldn’t live through again. Emma and Holly formed a beautiful friendship despite such an intense and awkward start. Jack had such depth to him that I loved to see. Holly’s letters to her sister showed just how much she cared, and when it was revealed that they were never sent I was crushed.

As for the romance aspect to the book, it was perfect. There was just enough to keep you wanting a happy ending, and the dual POV helped this so much!! I think the most important part is understanding that working through their grief and emotions from the past is what brought them together, and that their relationship wouldn’t have been the same without such a deep dive into that topic.

Loved it!! So adorable and heartwarming!

I really enjoyed this story, which is my first by Emily Stone. It explores themes of grief, hope, friendship and forgiveness. There is also a sweet romance. Holly and Josh have a memorable meet-cute in a cafe but then time elapses before they meet again. A touching story which made me tear up at times.

this was so beautifully written...I am grateful I didn't cry (sobbed like a baby with One Last Gift)

There needs to be more pen pals in this world. both in books and the real world.

please be warned, this book does deal with miscarriage, grief, death, cancer.

Touching but sad story with very likable characters. I dislike “miscommunication troupes” and this one managed it better than most but I was still frustrated that so much of the drama could have been avoided with communication.

Oh my, I cried throughout this one so badly that I had to cover my head with my scarf so the random man next to me on my plane wouldn’t think I was crazy. Emily Stone knows how to write to mess up your emotions. This was a beautiful story that covered so many topics. The relationship between Holly and Emma was so lovely and real. If you haven’t read Stone’s Always, in December I highly recommend it!
