I've read this before in one of the compilations but it's okay because the audio of this series is always better. Great narration.

Love that Angie Baby.

Take a couple of my favorite characters, throw them at the page and watch them splat.

I really need to stop reading Faith Hunter's novellas. There are a few good moments but most of them are a waste of time and energy. This one, sad to say is a waste of time.

REREAD 2021

I stand by what I said in the original review. This story is fast and right in there, and it's interesting as well. It has a lot of witch-magic in it, as well as family love and character growth.
Also as I said in the original review, I'm looking forward to seeing how it affects the rest of the series, for I honestly don't remember!

Listened to as an audiobook

Oh, this was fast. Had planned to split this up over two days at least, but ended up listening to it in one go.
I'm a sucker for witches, and the story of Molly and Angelina intrigue me. I wish we saw more of them in the over all series, but maybe only seeing them every book or so makes them more interesting.
Anyway, this was a fast listen with a lot of action and again some character development!
Can't wait to see how the stuff happening in this novella affects the rest of the story!

In this short story, some of Angies encredible powers come to light when she and Molly visit Jane in preparation for the witches and vamp meeting. Some hard lessons are being learned by all.

Since this seems to be the week for everyone telling me my reviews are stupid because I am stupid western woman, let me say I didn't read the other books in this series.

On one hand, I really like this. Jane Yellowrock is a very interesting character and the audio narration was brilliant. Yet I found myself getting increasing annoyed with the story. I am sorry but in the middle of a big fight you are going to take the time to describe what your partner is wearing? Seriously? Additionally, I kept getting told the same thing over and over. And finally, I am sick and tried of the all powerful Mary Sue. Jane was totally wonderfully until she bound Angie and then you were like WTF, how she do that.

It's a shame really because Hunter has one of the best relationships between the human and the animal in any were or shifter story I have seen.

This is a novella. It's the first audio I've listened to in this series and I have to say I really loved it. I wasn't sure I would when I realized just how strong the southern twang is by the narrator, but I slid right into it like a well worn glove.

The story was interesting, too, and it cranked me up and got me ready for the coming novel release, which I'm sure was the intent with the release timing.

It was good enough to make me wonder if I should be listening to these books instead of reading them.
