This is pretty interesting. I love the author's premise. In the introduction he says most fast food purchases are made without any forethought--almost all are impulsive. The purpose of this book, he claims, is to get his readers to think about their fast food decisions. I want to come up with a way to use this in my seventh grade class later this year. I think it is not a book many young people would pick up on their own, but when guided through the text, I think most young people will quickly engage with the test.

I read this to test for use in a 9th grade class, and because of the economic theories presented in it, the fabulous (and scary) information on advertising to children, and literally 'life-saving' information about what you are doing to your body when you continually eat fast food - I just have to include it! I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a quick read aimed at 9-15 year olds, but honestly, everyone should read it, esp. if you didn't read Fast Food Nation (same author).

I found this interesting and a wee bit thought provoking. Although I'm not into fast food [much!] it will definitely make me think twice about what I eat - but in all honesty, probably won't stop me eating fast food.

I got so much more out of this book than I could have imagined. A good look at the far reaching ways of McDonald's (not just on poor food practices that we all kind of knew were in play). And writing it for teens is genius. Their target base is getting the information that is so important to have in making eating decisions. Awesome stroke of luck that it's been in the news right when my teen book group was reading it!
