Helena has got to learn fast. False prophecies, how can Helena fix Abernathy’s while she is still learning how it all works. I enjoyed this book and was carried away in the world of magic and Abernathy’s. I enjoyed it very much. "This book was given to me for free at my request from NetGalley and I provided this voluntary review."

Another great book on this series. Love the interactions with the heroine and the Oracle/bookstore. Interesting to see how illusions are used.

I received an advanced reading copy of this title through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was pleasantly surprised that the author was able to put out a second book in this series so quickly. I truly enjoyed the first and was delighted to be able to read the sequel in such quick succession. The overall continuation of the story was good. The relationships between the main characters evolved into what you would expect. The challenges faced in this book are just as interesting and creative as in the first book. This story however doesn't seem finished. There are too many loose ends left and the reader is left trying to work them out on their own to no avail. It could very well be a set up to a third in the series but I am not convinced that is what the author intended. If you read the first you'll enjoy reading this sequel. For the most part I did.

I absolutely adore Melissa’s books and this one is definitely no exception. We’re thrown back into this incredible world, I mean we have books that tell the future and librarians who help run the bookstore that keeps those books! Considering we’re already familiar with this world, this book is less about getting to know it and more about seeing Helena dealing with this new life a couple of months after she became the custodian and while we don’t have the typical getting to know the world part of the book, we do see a little more from it, which is always interesting. We also see Helena growing more as a person and becoming even more amazing and while the end was definitely more on the sad side, I liked the decision she made in the end. While this definitely could be a good place for the series to end, I hope there are more books (or at least another one) because I definitely enjoy this series.

*i received a copy of this book from the author, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

An entertaining 2nd book, continuing to build the suspense about what is special about the hero.

I am really liking this series, even though book 2 certainly did not end the way I - and I suspect most other readers - hoped that it would.

The world-building here is very inventive and interesting, and I'm looking forward to learning more about this world in the continuing books. I was always going to be all-in for a magical bookstore, so this wasn't admittedly a hard sell for me to want to read. But the author - whose books I've read before and very much enjoyed BTW - gives the reader the full experience with this series.

We get a VERY exciting, suspenseful plot, with lots of twists and turns that will definitely keep you reading right to the end. We also get unique, engaging characters that we can like and root for as we go along with them on their adventures. Even the supporting characters are fully realized and interesting, and they are given more to do than just be foils for Helena, which is great.

There are also little moments of humour, and fun down moments - like Helena and Malcolm trading lines from classic movies and trying to stump each other. I like this for tension-breaking with all the dramatic stuff they are dealing with.

Overall, I'm very excited to see where the rest of this series goes, because I've very much enjoyed both book 1 and book 2, and recommend them to anyone who likes paranormal fiction/suspense.
