This is a great introduction book to start a series! It felt like I was able to just jump into the world and be there along the MFC POV and be in the action without having to struggle to get through the world building! Excited to dive into the second book and pick up right where we left off and see what happens next!

I was so disappointed by this. It felt so slow and boring. The ending was pretty predictable and also so frustrating to read.
She is seriously mad at Malakai?? After he was manipulated as a TEENAGER and then tortured for TWO YEARS because he thought he was protecting thousands of people?! Which he DID do by sacrificing himself! I honestly couldn’t believe her selfishness after they reunited, it tainted the whole ending
Is this supposed to be YA? Because I was under the impression that it was something completely different which is why I’m irritated and not continuing it.
(so excuse me for my annoyance if I’m wrong and this is supposed to be YA)
I am so tired of fantasy heroines barely being into their 20s, if that. It is annoying, everything that happens is always the product of their immaturity, and aside from the fact that I can’t relate to them, it’s just gross that for some reason no one wants to write them at a more appropriate age for the material usually found in a fantasy romance.
I can’t say that I got far enough in this to know if Ophelia is relatable outside of her age, because I was annoyed by the lack of an explanation of anything. And I know I didn’t get far enough for more world building, but throwing out Angels and curses and a war but giving no context to that within the first 40 pages is wild.
I just don’t have patience for this lately, and there was nothing else that was keeping me interested in learning more about this world or where this plot was going.
I initially liked this book until the end and then I DNF the second book. I HATE love triangles with a passion.

“I was not made for skirts. I was made for swords.” ⚔️
If you’re craving unique magic, found family, fated mates who just can’t get to each other, and a badass FMC who does not hold back—this romantasy delivers.
There are betrayals. So many betrayals. I muttered “Oh you MFer” more than once 😤
And now? I’m diving straight into book two. 👀
What. A. Start. 🔥📚
