Not enough build up or history for different plot points. Most of the book is just the main character flip flopping all over the place

This book was so so boring. Like I could barely read a page before I fell asleep. DNF and now I know to delete the others in the series that I have because there’s no way I’m going to get through the first much less the second or third.

WOW - I was surprised by this book! It was amazing, strong FMC, interesting and unique fantasy world, fast-paced, lover lost, conquest, magic, survival, war.....everything you really want in a good fantasy book! I loved the main character Ophelia - she is strong, determined, smart, and defiant.

OMFG! THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!

Damn, I'm really obsessed with this book, is crazy how much I loved it.

About the story:

We follow Ophelia, a warrior who was supposed to become one of the legendary mystique warriors, but with the curse and the war, that plan was no longer viable. But then, the war is over and the curse lifted, only there is one problem: Malakai is gone.
The boy she loves has been missing for two years and everyone believes he is dead, but Ophelia refuses to acknowledge it and is determined to find out what happened.
So when angels start appearing, a curse looms over her and an impossible quest is offered to her, she along with her closest friends will stop at nothing to achieve her goals and get her answers.

Opinions:

OKAY, AGAIN I AM REALLY OBSESSED. THIS IS AN OBSESSION. AM I GOING TO DO A REREAD OF THIS? OF COURSE. WILL THIS BE ENGRAINED IN MY BRAIN? 100%.

This story, this magical world, the characters were all so well made, I loved the complexity of them and how everything fit into the story perfectly.

Ophelia is my queen, my badass and someone I truly admire. Her courage, bravery, loyalty and faith is inspiring.

Malakai for now I have mixed feelings, but overall ok.

TOLEK LOVE OF MY LIFE AND MY MAN *mic drop*

And the rest of Ophelia's friends are SO good, I want them to be my friends. I'm a sucker for found family and I think this one has one of the best group of people who choose to be family for each other that has ever been written. I KNOW THIS IS THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, please go read this wonderful masterpiece so you can also swoon, love and scream about it.
Love you all, happy reading 💋💋

I had a really hard time slogging through this one. I didn’t feel attached to the characters at all, the lore and world building wasn’t interesting, it was just a flop for me.

This was a bit flat to me. I saw what it was trying to do, I don’t think I was in the head space to really get in to this. I can’t decide if it was the book or me, but I found the story abit meh and slow going, and it took me forever to read
