this book could’ve been way shorter
OMG I absolutely love this author. This was my first and now, I’m going to have to read at least one book a month by Nicole. The story had it all from work place romance to slow burn with spice. Grumpy/Sunshine. Fake Dating with all the dirty talk. Just grab it today and you won't be disappointed.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes
Strange men do funny thing when you score the last cinnamon roll.
Sometimes he rages about the high crime of jacking his precious pastry.
Sometimes he offers you ludicrous bribes to buy it back.
And sometimes - after shattering your faith in humanity - you find out he’s your new boss.

I’ve liked a lot of Nicole Snow’s books because they’re usually fun and predictable in the best ways. I didn’t love this one- I couldn’t really connect with Dakota even though some of her insults were hilarious. I felt like the Poe thing was overdone and there were a lot of loose ends with the company and wedding campaign at the end. I also wanted more groveling and conversation before the HEA dive back into a relationship. I was more invested in the first 35ish% of the book. I wish we found out more about her best friend/neighbor and there were definitely repetitive moments throughout the book- conversations that happened twice or situations that were alluded to and explained more than once that seemed unnecessary. Overall, this just didn’t hit the mark for me like her other books have.
The story line was very well developed! Lincoln and Dakota both had their own baggage but made it work together!!

This book has it all! Witty banter between Lincoln & Dakota, helpful best friends, decent parents, angst, workplace humor with shenanigans, fun locations, chemistry, believable past hurts, and it's not over the top. Jilted before, Dakota Poe is a little gun shy on any relationship. She runs into a psycho at the coffee shop (Lincoln) who demands to buy the last cinnamon roll she has just purchased. An illuminating argument occurs and barbs are exchanged. Later Dakota has a job interview and the CEO is none other than Lincoln from the coffee shop. She's hired for her excellent copy skills and fits in well. The slow burn between Poe and Lincoln in the workplace is hilarious and one-up fun times. The attraction is there but both being burned before and office policy keeps it on the professional level of sparring. A fake wedding campaign for the business throws them together and you know where it goes from there. Along the way of lust, misunderstandings, almost tragedy, and love takes these two on a journey of discovery.
If I’m honest I liked it at the start but when I was in the middle I just stopped reading. It was wayyyy too long.
I was actually plesantly surprised and really enjoyed this. I've never read any Nicole Snow books so I went into this one open minded. The premise and summary seemed like something I would like. It was great! Enemies to lovers, sort of fake marriage, insane banter, fighting over cinnamon rolls (the thing that brings them together), boss/employee, grumpy/sunshine, friendship and found family, a hot billionaire, spicy scenes, great supporting characters and a plot I really liked. It's long, but worth it. Dakota and Lincoln had such amazing chemistry! Their growth and evolution was just perfect. I also enjoyed the journey we see with Wyatt; it was so heartwarming and touching the way Lincoln cared for him and wanted the best for his friend. I loved the epilogue and the bonus scene we got. I definitely recommend checking this out!
