I was quite enjoying this book until I remembered I hate men. Maybe I'm just getting sick of these formulaic romances and need to take a step back from them for a bit. Also shout out to how they made up after the act three conflict and had sex or whatever but then the book did a three month time skip, just for them to have more sex, then another three month time skip, involving more sex, now a week long time skip, and then another three month time skip. I feel like that was completely unnecessary. It was just multiple time skips when honestly maybe only one was necessary to prove that both of them had healed from their wedding trauma or whatever.
Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Stalking
Knife crime, getting so angry you beat someone almost to death, the word stalking is thrown around a lot but is relevant maybe once.

I loved how their first few meetings were such a battle that Lincoln thought it was a prank when she walked into her interview. They have such a contentious banter that you slowly see shifting as they get to learn more and more about each other. Both are hurting with their own reasons and I think it surprises them both when they start to actually get close. Lincoln trying to take care of his friend/brother Wyatt is heartbreaking and one of my favorite things about this book.
This book will take you on a journey as you ride the rollercoaster of emotions these two scarred hearts experience. Lincoln and Dakota start their relationship with plenty of snark and a simmering spark of heat that will keep you turning the pages. They start as enemies, then reluctant coworkers, until that heat ignites and they become lovers. But it wouldn't be a Nicole Snow book without the angst that drives them apart. The billionaire Lincoln thinks loving someone only leads to heartache. The wisecracking writer was burned once but risks her heart again for Lincoln until he destroys all the pieces of her heart she'd built back up for him. But after the grand apology gesture, they repair what was shattered and live happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book even if it was a little long. The banter between the characters alone was well worth the length. Don't miss out on this billionaire, enemies to lovers, boss/employee, fake engagement, grumpy/sunshine, jilted bride, relationship phobic hero with a meddling mother, epic whopper of a romance.
