Alex James really isn't a great writer. Nor is his story all that remarkable. That said, it was a fun, weird, timewarp read.

I wanted to know more about Blur so I thought I'd give this book a try. I was pleased because Alex James wrote about his bandmates and his friends and all the crazy stuff he got into. It was very endearing. I'm glad I got to know more about Blur and each band member through the eyes of Alex.

Nice boy joins band, takes lots of drugs, sleeps with lots of models and then gets married and settles down in the Cotswolds.
Alex James’s memoir of his hard-partying rockstar years is a fairly lively read - it’s clear that this is his own voice rather than some generic ghostwritten celeb biography. Some of the stories are entertaining, but James ultimately draws no conclusion from them. A bit of a disappointment as this could have been so much better.

Pretty much the complete opposite of Luke Haines' parallel tale of the Britpop years. Amusing, but a little too smug and knowing in places.
