I received a free eARC copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
I was raised in the Buckeye state, so whenever I hear about a book that takes place in Ohio, or where the main characters are from Ohio, I'm all over it. Cause let's be real here, hardly any books take place in Ohio. There's really nothing there, and it's pretty boring. I mean, Cedar Point is awesome, and there's the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, but otherwise yeah...not much to see. The MC of this book is from Cleveland, but she travels to Ireland (which is basically my dream destination), so I was all over this book when I saw it on Netgalley.
I gotta say though, other than the setting of the book (and Kieran, obviously), I wasn't a huge fan. I understand the trials that Jane aka Clementine went though, and that it gives her a bit of leniency in her actions. But I just couldn't get past her personality. It got under my skin, and I wasn't able to connect with her at all.
The opening was a bit confusing as well. I'm not sure if this was on purpose to give us a sense of what Clementine was going through, or if it was just confusing. We are introduced to a Stephen, but there is no background. He just kind of pops up and hangs out for a while. We find out who he is later, but by then I had already written him off. There also wasn't a lot of clarity between how much time passed between the plane crash and the first chapter.
Overall, I thought there was a lot of potential. It just didn't hit the jackpot for me.

Spoiler
I had assumed it was a few weeks, cause in a plane crash where everyone but Clementine dies, I figured she would have way more injuries than just amnesia. But nope, it was 2 daysOverall, I thought there was a lot of potential. It just didn't hit the jackpot for me.
Very sweet easy quick read. Did not expect what happened at the end and enjoyed that immensely.
I listened to this book in one sitting. I stayed up late because I couldn’t stop. Man oh man. Cute closed-door romance with some mild swearing (just a few infrequent f-words). I was drawn to this book since it takes place in Ireland. It was super fun reading about locations that I just saw a few months ago.
Imagine waking up and being told that you have survived a plane crash but you are unable to remember it - or anything before it. Clementine doesn't have to imagine - she's living the nightmare. The sole survivor of a plane crash in south-eastern Ireland, she doesn't even recognize her own name. Panicked at the amount she has forgotten and the future ahead, she dares Kieran - a volunteer - into helping her escape the hospital. Now going by "Jane," she has no idea where she has been - or where she is going.
This was a beautiful story. Jane/Clementine's journey to find her identity and the things she learned about herself were touching. The secondary characters were multi-faceted and fun to read. The ending and how the story and characters all tied together was unexpected and perfect. All in all, a sweet book that I think many would enjoy!

Listened as an audiobook! I really liked this sweet simple easy story of Clementine Haas, a girl who gets in a plane crash and has retrograde amnesia. Of course there is a love story, but nothing is as it appears. Really this story is about identity and who makes you You, are you defined by family, your friends, your internal self, your actions or is it really a combination of everything. I wanted to give it 5 stars but the little twist at he end just felt too contrived. A good book for a quick summer read but definitely will be one of those that you either really like or just go “ehhh”. 4 stars!
This was a new author for me, so I wasn't sure what to expect or if the story and writing style would appeal to me. I can say I was happily pulled into the story from chapter one. The characters were interesting, as was the chemistry they had together. I was so hooked that I flew through it in a day. It was a short and sweet summer read. I am looking forward to trying another of the author's books now.
This was just an okay read. I don't think I would recommend it to anything, and nothing in particular stood out to me. It was a somewhat interesting story, although I didn't care for how they brought everything together.
