At once part of a whole, yet isolated and not quite individuals, the girls of Havenwood try to solve the mystery of their missing friend. The atmosphere is claustrophobic and the differing points of view are interesting, yet slow the story.

3.5 stars: received from publisher for honest review.

This is the first book that I've ever read in verse and it was a very interesting experience. I flew through this book and went into it thinking that it was for a younger/ middle grade audience. However, with themes of abortion, murder and manipulation, it was for sure older, I'd even categorize it as new adult. I do think it being written in verse limited its capacity but the fact that this story was about a cult and told by cult members, it made sense. My major issue with this definitely was the fact that there were like 5-6 different perspectives, and it was difficult to differentiate between all of the girls. I also definitely think that this story could foster a sequel.
