This was the third book in the trilogy and I am quite happy to be done with it. I feel like the story had so much potential but the author just didn’t really do anything with it. The characters fell flat and were hard to relate to and at times it was confusing and I didn’t really understand why the characters were doing anything of the things they were doing. I don’t think I’ll be continuing on with the next 2 in the series. Check your trigger warnings and happy reading!
Wow! That was some conclusion to a really awesome series. The characters were simply amazing, even the dark and sinister ones.
This story had nonstop suspense and intrigue for sure. A page turner to say the least.
Daniella was my favorite character, she was so strong and loving and beautiful on the inside as she was out. She had the patience of a saint, especially when having to deal with Antonio, that man would give anyone whiplash with his dark heart his intense nature, his extreme possessiveness and his proclivities for kinky sexy.
Antonio was enough to scare the crap out of anyone, he was dark and dangerous and calculating and will go to extreme lengths to protect his family. Our thoughts of him, highly volatile.! We loved that we got glimpses of what that man was capable of being, below all that darkness there was the beating heart of a man who once he gave his heart would love and cherish that woman in not only in life but, death as well.
Highly intense story that took you on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride. There were so many characters that we loved in this story, some more than others.
This story was also filled with tons of hot and sexy scenes, some that might make some uncomfortable but, some were highly erotic, and it was the perfect kink for Antonio and Daniella their jam you could say and Daniella definitely craves what the man dished out. Smoking hot, incredible chemistry! Daniella learn rather quickly to crave the dark parts of Antonio that lead to unbelievable pleasure...

I have loved every twist and turn this trilogy has taken and the final book was no different. This was such a perfect ending to Daniela & Antonios story....i'm not ready to say goodbye.
Daniella once again was the strong woman that she always is, I loved getting to see her in the role of a mother to Valentino and to finally be the lady of the house with planning for the harvest festivities. She is the perfect match to Antonio's dark and dangerous side.
Antonio is dark and dangerous and even though his heart has thawed when it comes to Daniella and his family, to the rest of the world he will always be the cold and calculated leader of the huntsman empire. We got to see him lay down literally everything he has worked for to save Daniella & their relationship (trust me you will be pissed at him but in the end he is doing it for her).
What a ride this story has been, through all the highs and lows I was always captivated and wanting more. The love between these two was strong, and I am so sad to have to say goodbye to them but I know this will most definitely be a reread for me.

Was this extremely cliche and just another mafia read for my shelves? Yes. Did I devour the series in three days? Yes.

Perfect ending!!
Lots of ups and downs and a few left and rights! Antonio and Daniela complete each other's light and dark sides thus making a power couple no one can defeat as we see!
Also loved the 2 epilogues.

4 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My dark prince, handsome and brave, and filthy to the core. The leader the valley requires to thrive. The man our family needs to flourish. My love, who, every day, reinforces my belief that I’m not broken. That I’m a strong, capable woman. Not a victim, but a survivor.
Envy is the third installment in the A Sinful Empire trilogy and marks its conclusion.
Everything is building up towards the greatest danger Antonio and Daniela will face. Their family will break apart, their love will be put to the test, and they will be hunted by enemies, new and old.
“Te amo, meu amor. Your goodness chases away my demons. When you’re in my arms, I’m a better man.”
This story was indeed one of survival, hope, and trust.
It might not be a conventional romance for many but Daniela and Antonio found their way to each other. Even though Daniela will always deserve better, but Antonio's growth in this book dismantled his alpha-borderline-toxic persona.
But even his selfless acts are selfish in a way because of how it made others, especially Daniela, feel. But we all know when things get too hard he always seeks refuge in his cold and calculating persona because that's what it has always been like for him.
On the other hand, I love Daniela more with every book. Her journey broke and made me (I'm not exaggerating). The trauma and tragedies she went through were painful to read about, but it filled me with joy knowing she was able to heal, to become stronger, and to not allow anyone to define her. She is not damaged nor is she at fault for anything she was subjected to—she's a survivor.
What I loved about this trilogy is despite being a dark mafia romance but there was more focus on the characters and their stories rather than scatter action and sexy scenes but leaving the characters a blank canvas. Even the side characters get proper development.
I would definitely recommend this for dark romance readers who love a little action and a sexy romance balanced with a solid plot.
Trigger warnings are mentioned in my reviews of book 1 and 2, please note that the book deals with difficult topics and there are other triggers that readers should be aware of as this is a dark book. This is not a standalone.

'A perfect ending to a trilogy that has been phenomenal from the beginning. All three books are a must read this year, and Envy is just the icing on the delicious, sinful cake'

Where to start, where to start. I read a lot in a year and quite often back to back when ebook ARCs all come at the same time, so sometimes books slip unintentionally through the cracks here and there. Not this book. Not this series, in fact. From the start, the series landed with a bombshell with Greed and kept on imploding and exploding right until Envy came to a close. All three books are from Eva's ' Sinful Empire series.
'My dark prince. My greatest temptation. My husband.'
Usually as I have said in past reviews for both Greed and Lust, I would not pick up a book that would end on a cliffhanger (as Greed and Lust both did), but I could feel from reading Greed's blurb that this was a series to be well worth the investment of the dreaded cliffys. The way that this series was pitched as a whole greatly appealed to me, and I was very much looking forward to diving into someone whom I hadn't read before at that stage.
'Antonio Huntsman isn’t the prince of childhood fairy tales. He’s savage and dangerous. The ruthless king I need. The beast I crave.'
After reading each book, the hunger to see how it all ended only grew. Despite considerate warnings and trigger warnings of dark themes and scenarios throughout each book, obviously getting the ball rolling with Greed, none of that put me off to even get to the point of considering DNF-ing either Greed, Lust or Envy. The dark, emotionally taxing, frustrating and harrowing parts interwoven within these books only made me cheer Eva on for writing about them in the first place. Antonio and his world is far from morally grey, he's firmly set in the dark and dangerous category--we all know where we lie with him and the world he was born into--, but for some those elements might have been off-putting. Not for me. The difficult parts of his personality along with the dark, scary and dangerous parts of the Mafia world were one of the many things that made this series unputdownable. I can understand for those who have been in situations similar to parts within these novels, how it can be difficult to read about, but there is always a reason behind why an author does what they do and if you read all the way through Envy and read Eva's message at the end, you'll understand too, why I'm sitting here applauding her for writing what she has, how she has.
'Together we’ll fight the monsters. The demons threatening to tear us apart. The villains who will stop at nothing to destroy everything. Our family. Our valley. Our love.'
Envy brings to a close a story that defines the rollercoaster romance genre, Mafia trope included. Just when things look like they've got a way towards a HEA, BOOM , another plot twist comes up that is both as surprising as it is enjoyable. Eva managed to keep me on my toes throughout this book as I worked my way towards the ending, and right up until crunch time, I was still very much on the edge of my seat. Antonio is still very much as Antonio as he was when we met him in Greed--but as Eva states--, considering who he is and the role he takes on in his world and in the Mafia, it would make zero sense to make him almost angelic and book-boyfriend perfect by the time the Epilogue rolls around. (And what an epilogue this was, oh my heart!). I love who he is, and who he is in the end thanks to Daniela. The two of them have been on quite the harrowing journey both respectively on their own, and together. But it was well worth reading through all the moments that left me gasping, tearing up & crying buckets, biting my lip and swooning over the steamy bits.
Though I am very much sad to say goodbye to these characters, their world and their journey, I'm incredibly thankful and grateful to have been reading these books and finding not one, but three books that have made both my 'must read' and 'top read' lists. I very much hope to add these books to my bookcase someday, because I have a feeling I will be re-reading this trilogy for many years to come.
'There will be no mercy. We will take no prisoners. I pray we make it out alive.'
I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good steamy, mafia-filled, angsty, age-gap romance that ticks all the boxes and then some.
See you soon, Antonio and Daniela. I'm not done with you two yet!
Five stars for Antonio, Daniela & for Eva Charles!
