Hilarious, heartfelt, and exactly the chaotic vacation I didn’t know I needed. This one delivered sun, sass, and surprisingly tender moments.

Very classic Guncle magic with a European twist!

While I preferred the first book better, I enjoyed learning about the lessons of love and really would love to go to Italy! With Greg marrying Livia at Lake Como, Patrick, or GUP teaches this nephew Grant and niece Maddie, as well as his sister Clara about love. Palming, the launt, is a lesbian match for Patrick with wit and charm. As Emory and Patrick try to patch things up, an unexpected ending occurs which I loved.

In honor of Pride Month, my book club’s June pick was The Guncle Abroad by Steven Rowley. This is the much-anticipated sequel to The Guncle, one of my favorites.
This quick read was not quite as funny as the first, but I still loved it. So much fun witty banter as GUP (Gay Uncle Patrick) and his niece and nephew travel around Europe. It was interesting to see Maisie and Grant grown up and angst-filled!
Loaded with 80s pop culture references, this light-hearted read was just delightful. I've now read 4 of his books and he's jumped high on my list of favorite authors.
I read along while listening to the audiobook narrated by Steven Rowley — the perfect reading experience!
