This one is relatively fun, and it's kind of nice to have Patrick called out on some of his silliness, but I'm not sure I'm super interested in general in people for whom flying first class is the default and purchasing real estate in SoCal or NYC is no big deal. The characters spend their time displaying a lack of awareness about their own wealth, being wowed at others even richer than them, and delivering one liners and schmaltz. Fun but light.

Very solid 4.5 stars! The Guncle was about handling grief. The Guncle Abroad is how to move forward after grieving. Very much like the first book Patrick tries to teach Macie and Grant an important life lesson but ends up learning just as much himself.

The first book really hit all the feels and holds a special place with me. I loved the second book almost as much- it will also hit all the feels but not as deeply as the first. If you loved The Guncle I highly recommend continuing the story.

Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for an uncorrected proof to read!

3.25✨ Uncle GUP (Patrick) and the whole crew are back. Again, there were wonderful lessons of love and grief, old and new characters to watch grow and a beautiful backdrop in France and Italy. Sadly, this book did not hold my attention the same way the first book did. The story seemed to drag and I didn’t find the charm of the original book. Very cute but not my favorite.

A much anticipated sequel - GUP is back! I enjoyed this even more than the first book. Maisie and Grant were more mature and their personalities were a delight. Patrick and the kids' travels throughout Europe were a joy to read about! I appreciated how thoughtfully the concept of grief is handled throughout the book as Greg is preparing to remarry. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments in The Guncle Abroad and I've already recommended it to fellow readers who I know enjoyed the first book in the series.
