This one wasn’t as good as the first.

I loved the love lessons but the launt rival felt forced and not as well done as it could have been.

The aspects of love and loving after loss was beautiful.

I wanted to love this because the Guncle was one of my favorites, but 3 stars is generous.

While this sequel packed less of a punch than its predecessor, it was still a fun read.

What made me love the first book was GUP helping Maisie and Grant with their (and his own) grief. The novelty of it has worn off a little with this sequel, in my opinion. The plot made less sense, so I feel this was definitely less strong than the original book.

Am I still glad that there’s a sequel? Yes! I loved the ending actually. And I still really enjoyed being back with  GUP and his niblings. The characters are the strongest aspect of this book.
