This was such a good thriller. It had so many twists and turns that I had no idea who the murder was.

Y'all, I slept on this one, and I'm kicking myself for it because it was SO good!!! So good, that the second I was finished with it, I immediately picked up the next book in the series because I have to know how this plays out! Maybe it's my love of true crime and fascination with serial killers, but the plot for this book had me immediately hooked and I stayed hooked until the last word. The FMC is a strong, take no BS mother, doing all she can to help protect her children. When your world is shattered, and you're forced to go into hiding, who can you trust? Is there anyone you can trust? The book started out just a tiny bit slow, but ramped up quickly and in my opinion, was never predictable! A must read for fans of thrillers. The book ends with a conclusion to the main plot of this book, and has a "happy-ish" ending. Though there is resolution, there is also a cliffhanger that will have you quickly reaching for the next book like I did!

The ending…another one where I did a double take.

I guessed the killer early on HOWEVER, the amount of times I second guessed myself throughout the book with the chaotic people living in this “quiet” lake town.

Also, Mel is a creep and deserves the death penalty. How in the world did he get away with his murders for so long? A true sociopath and it was reflected accurately in the book.

I am rarely a thriller series person but the ending left me ready to jump into book 2.
