I can't properly describe why I want to continue reading this series. Must be because it ended on a cliffhanger.
The library hold released this to me on December 20th, and I feel so lucky that I got to read this right in the sweet spot of holiday festivities! In fact, the book starts on December 20th! What are the odds?! It’s got it all, holiday theme, juicy family drama, and a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting to immediately get to the second book in the series! I really enjoyed this one!

Winter on the Island finds the Quinn family , during Christmas week, embroiled in several dramas: a cheating spouse, a self absorbed boyfriend, insider trading, and the youngest boy is missing in Iraq. It may not be a Christmas of their dreams but the family is working through their issues in Hilderbrand's special way. I liked the characters and love the setting.
A “real” holiday read. A family full of individual stories, happenings, secrets, and stressors, but the Inn on Winter Street brings them together. A quick read- full of believable characters and some great descriptive writing allowing me to picture the inn in my own mind. Will definitely be reading the others in this series.
Elin Hilderbrand's lovely novel "Winter Street" is ultimately about family. There is a line towards the end of the novel that goes: "Christmas is about the people you spend it with." In the course of just a few days, the family endures drama, triumph, happiness and despair but none of that matters when you're with the people you love the most.
