I was looking for a cozy, winter read, and this delivered. Christmas in Nantucket? Yes, please. Though I could have done without the all of the gender stereotypes in the relationships (men being threatened by successful women, women wanting expensive gifts on holidays in order to affirm the worth and value of their relationship, etc.), but tried to ignore it and go along for the ride.

I’m invested in these characters after only 246 pages and can’t wait to start the second book tomorrow. It’s funny at times and heartwarming at others with a dose of sadness as well. A perfect December read!

11/24 —- This was a comfort reread to get me in the holiday spirit. I’ll listen to the whole series but based on this first one, I don’t think I’ll be gushing with praise like I did in 2020. It had a very elementary plot, some insufferable characters, and no resolution whatsoever, making it necessary to read the sequel if you want any closure!
