This book was good but I am not sure if I will continue with the series. I enjoyed all of the characters especially Mary and Kat. I didn't really like Lillia, but she began to grow on me as the story progressed. This was a unique story line and I really enjoyed it. The ending....I don't know how I feel about it.

This book was super engaging and is a great read for anyone wanting something that's quick but also has a complex storyline. It was still very much an average highschool teen thriller from the early 2010s, so bear that in mind: some of the lines made me cringe really hard and the vague trajectory of the plot was predictable. There were a lot of loose ends that weren't tied up at the end of the story but this is understandable as it's a trilogy, but also annoying, as I don't know if I can justify buying the other two. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this, and so if you get the chance to read it I'd definitely give it a shot!
This book pleasantly surprised me. I thought it would be a light, fun read. But the girls had hidden depths, although it felt more like Kat's book, despite the pov being all the girls. I was surprised how little Lillia held Rennie responsible for the trauma that befell her at the party they went to. Mary's back story was particularly heart wrenching. I enjoyed the revenge aspect of the story, because it shows the price we pay when we set out to right a wrong. There's a saying that when you look into the abyss you should take care because it looks back at you too. Can't wait for the sequel. so glad I picked it up at BEA.
I actually kinda liked this book. Maybe because it was so pretty little liars that I just enjoyed the idea of silly high school pranks that were kinda petty.
This book was about three girls: Lillia, the good, rich girl; Kat, the bad reputation, poor girl; and Mary, the girl who is very sensitive. Lillia is mad because she thinks Alex is hooking up with her younger sister and is slowly seeing the faults in her friends, especially popular girl, Rennie. Kat is super angry because her secret summer love affair with Alex fades and Rennie, her ex-bestie, will not stop tormenting her. Mary used to live on the island before Reeve (popular football dude) caused Mary some emotionally turmoil that made her leave the island. All three of the girls want revenge and they will take nothing but that and more.
So, I guess this book is what you call, Pretty Little Liars for tweens. This is mostly because the level these pranks are on are nothing compared to PLL, where there is murder and surprising plot twists. Some of the revenge the girls take involves not allowing someone to be prom queen and destroying someone's car. Which I found wasn't a huge deal, considering how many PLL look-a-likes there are.
I think one of the good points about this book was that the characters were very complex and had these crazy emotions. This a book where I wondered, I really hope I don't sound like that, because it was totally realistic. But, warning there are a lot of characters and sometimes I got mixed up between Rennie and Reeve.

the book's kinda cool but it doesn't have the wow factor i guess, hope the second is better!
Ok, that ending was very unexpected. I like how everything is so dramatic but I don't know if I'll continue with the series.
Let's wait and see.
Let's wait and see.
Can someone explain to me why is it that even though I found nearly all of these characters bland and two dimensional, the plot completely juvenile, and altogether given myself one hell of a headache due to the amount of eye rolling, yet I've come to the end of the book and thought, "Shit, I need to read the next one asap!"
Like, how does this happen?
I guess thats the power of Jenny Han. Even when you don't like it, you like it.

This was darker than I thought it was going to be. Revenge doesn't alway make you feel good.
The pettiness of high school. I wouldn't go back for all the money in the world.
It ended oddly. I'm glad that I have the entire trilogy, so it will be one story.
