I‘m so confused ...

Me: Such a great book. Those girls take getting back at your enemies to a new level. I love that old friends became new friends and the “new” girl just made the group complete. Sometimes you have to find out who your real friends are the hard way.

The Book: Kat is such a tough girl. She use to be friends with the popular kids. She grew up on the island so she has known the popular kids since birth. Then one day her once best friend became her enemy and it stayed that way through high school. So when presented with the chance to get even with an ex-bestie can you really blame Kat for not passing up the chance?
Then there's Lillia the smart, pretty, and overprotective big sister. She and her sister have always been close, so when she hears that her little sister is secretly seeing one of her friends she is mad. There is nothing like a big sister trying to protect her little sister from herself or so she thinks. The problem is in the process of protecting her sister Lillia finds herself on the enemy list of her "best friend".
Finally we have Mary who is invisible to everyone except Lillia and Kat. Mary is use to feeling and being invisible ever since middle school and she was made fun of by the popular kids. She left the island for a long time but decided it was time to come back. It's senior year and there is nothing like meeting two girls with revenge on the brain.
These girls are kindred spirits that meet to accomplish a common goal. REVENGE!

Thoughts: This book gives the saying "An eye for an eye" a new meaning. This is such a good book you won't be able to put it down to the end.

another super quick read.
will have proper review when it's not 5am

My mom told me I should stop reading books I wasn't liking, so that's what I did. I actually read half, which, honestly, was way too much. I kept hoping for it to get better, and I was kind of curious to know the and, but it was too much. There were a couple of pages where I was like: oh, finally, I'm sure I'll enjoy it now. But I didn't. There was nothing that called to me on the characters. I don't want to call them pathetic, because I've never been a victim of bully, so I don't know how I would react to it, but not this way. Instead of moving on, they want revenge; petty revenge. No one will even know it was them. This is like... They're not moving on. They're making excuses for how their life turned out. I have no idea how this became a trilogy; one was more than enough.

I was really excited to read this book after having finished TATB by Jenny Han and I was intrigued by the whole karma and revenge concept. I did enjoy the book at first however was very confused as to what was happening with Mary at the end which left me with so many questions. I was going to read the next book however I couldn’t find it anywhere at the time and am not sure if I should bother trying to read it now.

This review is scheduled to appear on Tuesday on my blog:) So you guys get it early, yay!
I really enjoyed this book. It got me out of my reading slump, so yeah! This book is literally bubblegum for my brain. It addicting and I couldn't wait to find out how the plan for revenge would play out. I thought this was going to be like Pretty Little Liars (the TV show, because I have no plans on reading the book). It's not really. It's a mix of Revenge and Pretty Little Liars. It deals with more serious topics than a typical, fluffy contemporary. Overall, it's a contemporary, except for one part of the book that isn't and that kinda ruined a bit of it for me. My favorite character was Lillia. Mary annoyed me in the beginning, but has grown on me a little. I liked Kat at first, but after finishing the book she got annoying toward the middle of the book. The ending, arrgh! I have to find out what happens next. That's all I have to say.
lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

yeah, didn't really like this. but there was a cliffhanger at the end and this book was easy to read so I guess I'm gonna continue

I’m sick of waiting for karma. Karma can suck it.

Ignore that fluffy cover; this is not a sweet story. This is a story about revenge.

Meet Lillia. When her senior year starts, she's one of the most popular girls in school, along with her best friend Rennie. A week ago everything was fine, but after one particular party the relationship between the two girls are strained. On top of that, Lillia finds out that one of her oldest friends, Alex, is taking advantage of her fourteen year old sister.

Meet Kat. A few years ago, she used to be best friends with Rennie, but then she got fazed out, replaced by Lillia. Rennie spread rumours that put Kat at the bottom of the high school hierarchy. During the summer she has spent some time with popular jock Alex, and just before school started, they hooked up. But back at school he's still one of the popular kids, aka friends with Rennie, and on top of that he's hooking up with someone else behind Kat's back.

Meet Maya. A girl who was bullied for years and is now returning to the Island where she grew up. Only problem; her old bully, Reeve, is going to high school with her. She's looking forward to put him in his place, but Maya is deep down a gentle soul, and the sweet revenge never comes.

Add these girls together and their mutual wish for revenge, and you get Burn for Burn.

These girls are savage. They plot their revenge, agree no one is allowed to back out, and if you do, you're free game. And you'll love it, every single second of it. The authors make you feel, both for these girls and their victims. This could easily have been a "they are bad guys because I say so and therefor you must hate them, no questions asked", but it's not. Alex, Reeve, and Rennie are all fleshed out characters, and even while rooting for Kat, Maya, and Lillia - even when they're doing illegal stuff - you're also feeling for the bad guys. It's a complex story that keeps you wondering what the hell these girls are going to do next, and wonder just how far they are willing to go. It's not a question about if, but rather about when, is someone going to end up hurt.

"Well, that's that," Kat says. "We have to kill Reeve."
