Heavy read. Gave me insight into life in favelas - how it can be monotonous and dangerous, but mostly how residents are focused on just getting by and finding food for the day. Made me sad to think about how little has changed since this was published in the 60s.

It's really repetitive and boring. I feel awful saying that but I just can't continue it anymore.
