This book had me hooked faster than you can say 'runaway bride.' From the moment Sabrina ditches her wedding and stumbles into a bar and into the life of one charming single dad, Tyler. I knew I was in for a ride. Tyler, by the way? Certified cinnamon roll, sweet, soft, and totally swoonworthy.

Their flirty banter gave me life, the chemistry was deliciously undeniable, and the tension? Chef’s kiss. I adored how Tyler was not only an amazing dad but also ridiculously attentive to Sabrina. Like, where do we find more of you?

The kids and the other side characters added so much heart and hilarity to the story. I genuinely didn’t want it to end. Oh, and let’s talk about the narration: Teddy Hamilton and Brooke Bloomingdale were absolute magic together. Their duet brought every scene to life in the best way.

Thank you SO much to Hambright PR for the complimentary copy of the book & the ALC!

This book is out now!

I am not sure what Lauren Blakely puts in her books but they are so addictive! I knew very early on that this was going to be such a delight. And nanny x single dad gets me every time.

I really loved Sabrina's character! She starts off the book as a heartbroken bride and over the course of the book she just becomes such a stronger character. She didn't have it all together but with the help of friends and Tyler she was able to start over.

Tyler - SWOOON! He was there right in the beginning to scoop her up after she left everyone at her wedding. He always had a crush on Sabrina (she is her daughter's skating coach) and I hate to say it was a perfect storm on how she things transpired but it really was. He needed someone to help with his two kids while he is playing hockey and she needed the money.

The way that Sabrina just seamlessly fell into place within the family. Her relationship with Luna and Parker was so cute! I love how they all just seem to get along so well & they seemed to respect her. I thought it was adorable how they teamed up to do a presentation for Tyler and Sabrina - I won't tell you what it was on but it made me happy.

But what didn't make me happy was the miscommunication that happened immediately after the presentation. I felt that Blakely needed a conflict and wanted to add it in. I think the conversation with his family and the big F U to her dad still could have been done without having the conflict. The behavior from Sabrina just felt out of character in the moment. I know I am being vague but that just means you have to read for yourself to find out!

I want to build a life with you."

The spice in this was just *chef's kiss*. I thought it was the perfect amount! And the way that Blakely writes those intimate moments are always just SO good! And I always feel the chemistry between her characters and this one is no exception.

I am still pretty new to duet narration as it is becoming more and more popular. But the way that Lauren's books have been produced have been *chef's kiss*. I paired my reading with the audiobook and the duet narration between Brooke Bloomingdale and Teddy Hamilton was SO good! Their vocal chemistry just came through so well. Brooke is a new narrator to me and I certainly would listen to other books done by her. Highly recommend via audio.

I started reading this series midway through and from the looks of it, now there is no stopping me! The next one is tentatively expected April 2026.

If you are looking for a hockey series to binge -GIVE THIS ONE A READ! Or you are just looking for your next nanny romance book - this one is it!

Ugh just did not do it for me. The storyline and plot had so much potential but everything just felt so dramatic and cringey that it was so difficult to get through it. Usually I love all the details but “my Sabrina loves her toothpaste, the mintier the better” is just one of so many that had me feeling wtf am I reading

ARC REVIEW: Thank you to Hambright PR & Lauren Blakely for my ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lauren Blakely is always win for me! I love her writing and banter and I know going into her books that I’m going to have a good time! I was sold with Overtime Kiss when I heard it was a single dad nanny romance, which just so happens to be my favorite! There’s something so attractive about a good dad and Tyler delivers!! The tension and chemistry between Tyler and Sabrina was off the charts. When she goes to get her sheets out of the dryer?? IYKYK. Tyler is also so protective of her and I can’t get enough! I could read a series just about them.

The Overtime Kiss was everything I wanted in a single dad/nanny romance. Sabrina literally runs from her cheating ex and ends up working for Tyler—a hot hockey player and the sweetest, most protective dad. She’s also a tiara-wearing ice skating coach to his daughter, which just made me love her even more. There’s tension, a deal for “$€X lessons,” and a whole lot of chemistry that neither of them can pretend away for long.

I loved how Tyler treated her—with respect, support, and little love notes that absolutely melted me. And Sabrina? Total queen. She’s confident, funny, and the way she connects with his kids just made my heart happy. The skating, the yoga, the banter—it was all so fun to read.

The found family vibes in this series are top-tier, and the moments with the kids and Tyler’s team made it feel extra special. Honestly, this is one of my favorite Lauren Blakely books yet. Sweet, flirty, a little spicy, and full of heart. Loved it.

🎧: The Overtime Kiss audiobook? So good. Brooke Bloomingdale and Teddy Hamilton crushed it with the duet narration—my favorite setup—and they totally brought Tyler and Sabrina to life. You can feel the spark, the banter, the tension… all of it.

Brooke gives Sabrina that perfect mix of sass and heart (tiara energy fully delivered), and Teddy makes Tyler sound exactly like the sweet, slightly too-responsible hockey dad… with a filthy mouth. I had the best time listening and didn’t want to stop. If you're into audiobooks with chemistry, charm, and just the right amount of heat, this one’s a solid pick.

The Overtime Kiss (Love & Hockey #5) by Lauren Blakely
Narrated in Duet by Brooke Bloomingdale & Teddy Hamilton
Out NOW - free on Kindle Unlimited!

You had me at "Runaway Bride"! I'll eat that trope for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

After Sabrina Snow's husband-to-be sends her an accidental voice message on the eve of their wedding singing a silly song to HER foster cat about the dirty things he and the Maid of Honor are doing that night, she puts him on blast at the wedding and peaces out! ✌️

Unfortunately, her parents are the absolute worst and they do nothing but kick her when she's down. Now, she's homeless and nearly income-less, but she's determined to grow from this!

*But first-- let's have a real quick (and deserved) Menty-B!*

Luckily, she runs into a friendly face at the hotel bar. Tyler Falcon: super hot hockey star and single dad of 2 kids, one of whom is her ice skating student. She's got a crush, and he secretly does too! He helps get her mind off the cancelled wedding, they get drunk, and she confesses how miserable her love life has been and describes her fantasies... including the ones about HIM! Sadly, she passes out before they can act on any of it, and they go their separate ways.

Fast forward several months, and Tyler's in need of a nanny, so his mom hires Sabrina! Neither of them had forgotten their night that almost was, though they'd been able to continue their amiable acquaintanceship. But now she lives with him and his kids, and the tension and temptation only grow! When he learns she has a sex list, he agrees to give her lessons and help her check off her list! What could possibly go wrong when they both already have lingering feelings for the other?!

Things progress, but Tyler wants to keep it quiet. When they struggle with navigating their secret non-relationship while keeping up appearances around Tyler's kids, things come to a breaking point, and there's some very frustrating miscommunication! Can these two talk it out, put their fears and doubts aside, and be together in the light?

This story had laughs, banter, amazing friend groups, but also touches on some deeper things like the expectation of perfection and disappointing familial relationships.

🎧 Audiobook note: I love Duet Narration, and both narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life!

Audio (ALC) Review

Firstly let me just say that Lauren Blakely has become one of my faves! For this audiobook I only found time to listen while driving...the AC is out in my car so driving is miserable but I could not wait to be able to get back to this book!
Sabrina catches her cheating boyfriend bragging about hooking up with the maid of honor through a voicemail. She decides to not just not marry him but give him a little "hell hath no fury" fury. Now what got me isn't what she did or why she did it but...the response by her parents. It was horrible and I wanted to cry for her. Those people couldn't be more abusive if they beat her. The psychological damage they inflict on her is heart breaking. You'll see! And wait til you hear the fiancĂŠ's crappy and cruel gaslighting.....UGH.
Long story short...she takes off in an Uber with the coolest driver ever, ends up at a hotel bar, and runs into Tyler.
Now Sabrina knows Tyler; she's been Luna's iceskating coach for a while. They talk. They get tipsy.
They share the "Night of 1,000 confessions". It's really sweet.
Moving on. Sabrina is homeless because the butt-nugget has the lease on their place. She's also jobless because her dad is vicious and cruel.
Fast forward. Sabrina and Tyler are friends and he needs a nanny for Luna and Parker (you are going love these kids!).
I'm going to leave you here...so you can read (listen too, same thing) all about the steamy almosts. The sweet moments with the kids. The learning to communicate. You'll also learn about vegetarian diets! Not my thing but hey....now I have ideas!
If Goodreads would go ahead and give me quarter star ratings then I'd give this book 4.5 stars. But they don't so it's getting 4.
Lauren Blakely...I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more by you! Thanks so much for the ALC!

P.S. Thanks StoryGraph for the quarter stars!!!!!
