when it comes to describing this book, the first – and only – word that comes to mind is real. every moment felt genuine, true. a breath of fresh air. i connected with every character, especially phoebe. the way she made sense of her thoughts and never lost sight of the bigger picture struck a deep chord in me. i trusted her from beginning to end, and she didn’t disappoint

While some plot and character changes seemed a bit unrealistic, loved the overall themes of feeling the need to pretend versus the lack of inhibition and risk when talking to strangers and feeling alone with someone you’re close to versus seen by someone unexpected. I thought Phoebe’s character toed the line well of being blunt and telling characters what they needed to hear while rarely being mean.
