If you really liked this book, yay! I’m so happy for you! Don’t read this next part because I did not enjoy this book!

I find these characters insufferable. Every conversation has been nothing but “banter” and at that point, every conversation just feels disingenuous. Not everything needs a sly remark (even if that’s your coping mechanism). 

I find January’s (also I’m barfing at that name IM SORRY BUT JANUARY ANDREWS AND AUGUSTUS EVERETT??? What are those names!!!!!) fashion choices crazy. I also appreciate a cool pair of shoes but THIGH HIGH BOOTS FOR A SMALL LAKE TOWN?!?! Heeled green rain boots?!?! If there are no haters of ankle boots then I am dead. WHY SO MANY BOOTS.

I did really like HOW Emily Henry wrote though, and I think the back stories she’s given the main characters are intriguing.  I just didn’t like the characters or the dialogue. It’s giving “señorita awesome”  (please tell me you’ve seen that video)

I think I’ll give a different book of hers a try but this is a no from me dog.

A fun romance that has some darker, thought-provoking elements sprinkled throughout but overall is a light-hearted and charming story.

In some ways, this book was better than expected but whatever interest it roused in me in the early chapters is squandered by the time I was 2/3rds through.

This was such a cute book and easy read … I think it had a good balance of real life issues and normal romance cliches hahaha but I would def recommend this and it’s a good beach read!!
