The only reason I liked this book was because of this one quote
"Break my heart. It was only ever yours to break."

This was such a good ending to the trilogy! I loved how everything wrapped up both plot and character wise. Such a solid dystopian series. I really liked the development with Maxon and Mer in this book, especially when they actually started communicating properly... It was interesting to learn more about the other girls in the selection too, Celeste especially.
My only complaint was that I thought the ending was a little rushed, I'd have liked a bit more explanation about how things were resolved.

3.27 stars, but I'll round down. ;)
This book was an exhausting read. The book is in the mind of the main character, which is somewhat annoying because the main character seems to have a scattered train of thought. It is predictable, but somehow it puts you on the edge of your seat, making you unsure if what you think will happen will actually happen. Many moments made me mad, but at least the book made me feel something at all. The author needed to get some new ideas for plot points, but it was still a very entertaining read. For some reason I found that I kind of loved it. I don't know what she'll do next, but I'm interested to find out.

Alright this is for the whole series so I’m not going to put a star rating… I did enjoy it. I did. It made me squeal and had me on the edge of my seat more than once. But also there are so many things that drove me crazy. They are, granted, teenagers so there’s some justification to the whiplash emotions. But also, make up your mind! They both knew that they loved the other way early on and the confession and the whole Selection process felt pretty drawn out. Also I know he was supposed to be getting cozy with the other girls but that also drove me a little crazy, I think I wanted him to be a little more noble than that. Except for that the justification the author creates for their actions is usually pretty good. I hated that she kept going back to Aspen. Ugh. Especially when he made out with her.

Also I thought it was very convenient that at the very end she just kind of killed any character that was getting in the way. The king? Dead so they didn’t have to find an actual resolution? The queen? Also dead so that it balanced out the king’s death. Anne, the maid who was also in love with Aspen? Dead. And then she killed Celeste instead of Kriss so that it wouldn’t be like America was reduced to his only choice. I liked the love letters he wrote her though, and I did like their romance. Did I enjoy these books? Yes. Are they the best books ever? Probably not.

you’ll never get over ur childhood favorites (this one more than the others tbh, i was grinning sm)!!! stepping back into this series was just what i needed to get out my slump & i’m so in the mood to watch a romantic drama now 😭 gonna look over a few of the happily ever after novellas now tho hehe
Can somebody explain to me how I've read this in 4 hours? Why am I a sucker for these books? But nevertheless it was a great finale! So excited to read more about this.
I can’t believe I read it in one day and wasn’t because i liked it ( cuz I didn’t, i hated it ) it was because i just wanted to be over with it and move on with my life. This whole story could have been written into one book but there were three of them, and i read all of them. If I could get through this series i can do anything now
