halle butler is SO good at making the relatable repulsive. the way she writes people makes them so unlikeable, but in a way that reminds you that you are not immune to behaving similarly. I actually vastly preferred this to the new me, which is interesting because I didn't realize this one came out first.

the new me was in my top three reads of 2021 and i had hoped i’d love jillian just as much, but unfortunately it fell flat for me :((( it was a quick read and i appreciated the dark humour but the ending was a letdown and i couldn’t connect with any of the characters. i still highly recommend the new me though, it can’t be beat if you’re looking for apathetic snark and millennial gloom <3

Now I’m confused? It just ends? You feel like there’s a build up to the downfall of both women and then it just ends? Like I was enjoying reading this and then it was over? No fun!

Library book!

Nothing happened and not even in the way that I like. A waste of time except it was very quick to read, which was nice because I've been slaving away over an Anne Enright book for two weeks and this was like a fun break for me.
