Took a few pages to pull me in but the extreme nature, humorous cynicism and messing with the regular perspective of superheros in comics is vibrant and exciting. I'm going straight to the next volume.

I'm not sure about this one. I went in blind and it was a lot of shock value. I am definitely curious now to see the tv adaptation because 95% of this craziness can't transition to screen without x rating.

I admit that I found the comic after seeing the teaser trailer of the series. Graphic to a fault filled with corruption and heroes who are acting like egoistic, megalomaniac celebrities, this comic could have been better. I am not going to judge the art, this is the creator's work and I respect the time any artist gives to their work.
But I hoped the plot wouldn't make me gag half the time. I'll try to read the rest because I simply want a scene where Billy just punches Homeland in the face.

I really didn't care for this. Not very compelling. I give it points for being something so edgy and different when it came out, but like Preacher this is a product of its time, and I won't be continuing with the series.
A delightfully crude middle finger to the superhero genre.
This shock jock shit is not really my speed, but I guess I’ll give the next trade a try. No promises. 1.5 stars, but I’m trying to keep an open mind. PS Darick Robertson nailed the Simon Pegg reference, and it was validating to read about it at the end of the book.
It was a fun idea of superheroes gone morally corrupt. It was good.

I like the tv-show even though it's too explicit for my taste, but this was way raunchier, so I'll just stop with this one.
