My boyfriend encouraged me to read this one...he said "it's one of the best true crime novels EVER." I wouldn't go that far but it was interesting reading.

Just finished listening to the audiobook version. Having that feeling of, "what? It's over? But I want to learn more..." Saviano is a powerful, lyrical storyteller. The book can be a bit overwhelming, especially for a non-Italian, as Saviano often spends pages listing details, such as the nicknames of the Camorra bosses and the towns they run/exploit. Sometimes I got lost in the details of who was killing whom, and what was going on at trial. (This could also be because I was listening in the car, and chapters would get chopped up as I arrived at my destination.) However, just get through it and keep going. You'll learn a lot. The last few chapters detailing the toxic waste and nuclear dumping are particularly powerful. Saviano is apparently under police protection for having written this book.

An interesting and unsettling read. I had to read it for a class and my teacher didn't lie when he said that its heavily involved, intense and quite vivid. I'm not even sure what to completely write for the review truthfully.

Abandoned. Not interesting at all.

A story of real world. I had a chance to meet him years ago,at that time I have to leave my coat open and show bodyguard I didn’t carry anything could hurt people. Because since he published this book, he and his family is under threat of mafia.
