It took my about a month and a half to finish and honestly I really hate that. I won’t lie, this book started so strong. Greta, Kay, the myth of the SnowQueen but as the story wore on, I got bored of Greta and her self doubt, of how she just assumed Kay would be thankful. Meeting up with Mousebones and Janna was the really only interesting thing that happened in this entire story after Kay got kidnapped. I wanted to enjoy it but I was just bored.
Entertaining, funny and imaginative.
A very enjoyable read, packed with Scandinavian myths and folklore, with a strong female lead, in a story about finding herself, a true friend and her true partner in and by places she never imagined

Having just discovered T. Kingfisher, I have been on a minor binge of her fairy-tale retellings. This was the best of the three I have read so far. I loved it.
